China's annual import and export key data in 2023 show that the total export of electric vehicles, lithium batteries and solar cell products totaled 1.06 trillion billion yuan, an increase of 29.9 per cent over the same period last year. Among these, exports related to lithium batteries have been particularly robust, with KATOP leveraging this momentum to accelerate its going-global process, showcasing China's lithium battery equipment's hard-core strength to the world.
KATOP has already understood the big trend of industry development. It actively responds to the national "going out" strategy, opening up markets in Asia, Europe and North America, building an agent network and establishing branches.
Layout overseas markets, partners are everywhere
Since the first coating machine went abroad and entered the German market in 2015, KATOP's overseas journey has been progressing steadily. In March 2024, a wide-width coating machine for a leading customer in France was successfully delivered, marking another important breakthrough of KATOP in the European market.
At present, KATOP has delivered equipment to Sweden, Germany, France, India and other countries. Customers have spread across more than 20 countries and regions, accumulating rich overseas delivery experience.
KATOP has customers such as CATL and BYD, two giants in lithium battery manufacturing in China. It also won orders from Northvolt, Daimler, Samsung and LG, several leading companies in the industry overseas.
KATOP's internationalization strategy is not only reflected in product exports, but also in its carefully planned global service network. KATOP has established agent service networks and company branches in Europe, Asia, and North America to accelerate the development of overseas markets through resource sharing and enhance the overall competitiveness of the entire industrial chain.
In Europe, KATOP established a subsidiary in Frankfurt, Germany, and reached cooperation agreements with five local service partners. In Asia, KATOP established a cooperative agency relationship with Japanese agent DJK. In North America, KATOP signed a strategic cooperation agreement with US agent ESI.
Looking back on these years of overseas market development, KATOP has won the trust of overseas customers with its professional and excellent technical strength. It delivers orders to customers on time, in quality and quantity. At the beginning of this year, Peter Chou, vice president of KATOP, represented the company to participate in the NAATBatt 2024 held in Carlsbad, California. At the meeting, Peter shared KATOP's innovative ideas and practical explorations in the new energy field, as well as its unique insights into the future green energy landscape.
Next, KATOP participated in Battery Japan and H2 & FC Expo Japan, Inter Battery 2024 in South Korea and the Battery Show·Europe. Through these international stages, not only advanced equipment such as coating machines, Integrated Thermal Lamination & Folding Machine, Formation/Capacity Grading Equipment, and filling machines were displayed, attracting many industry giants and representatives of well-known enterprises, demonstrating our technical strength and innovative ability.
KATOP is accelerating its "going global" pace and continuously expanding the international influence of Chinese brands. During the process of "going global", KATOP has established a large sales and service network in overseas local areas, and invested to set up factories and branches.
